He is survived by: his children, Candace Sears (Daniel Estabrooks) and Paul Sears; his grandchildren, Isabelle, Rebecca and Benjamin; his siblings, Janice Withers (Bryan), Muriel Austin (Ernie), Colin Sears (Louitta) and Rosa LeBlanc (Guy); his sister-in-law Gabby Goodwin; and his close friend Shirley Clarke. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
