He is survived by: his father William Patterson; his son Peter John Patterson Garland; his granddaughter Maddison "Madi" Garland; his sisters, Linda Dunham (Gary) and Rhonda Hicks (Anthony); his stepbrother Lewis Smith (Terri); his sister-in-law Marjorie Patterson; his aunts and uncles, Garnet, Victor, Lorna and Sylvia; and his close friends, Cora, Nancy and Dave. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, extended family.

In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Perry may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or to PAW, Moncton (People for Animal Well Being).
