“So sorry to hear of Bertha's passing. My Mom, Doris, was 1st cousin to Bertha and Mom and I both loved Bertha. Such a kind and thoughtful lady. Not knowing, I mailed Bertha a Mothers Day card on May 8th from Tatamagouche just to let her know I was thinking of her. I have many fond memories of Bertha and will miss her. I remember how she loved beautiful clothes and always looked so pretty. Bertha and Mom loved to share their thoughts and had good times together as best friends. I enjoyed talking to Bertha about her Dad's grandparents, which were my great-grandparents. They were such interesting characters! Archie and Clara. I mentioned to Bertha that I had found their headstone just outside of Pictou and Glendon and I took a big brush and water and cleaned it all up. Bertha was really pleased. My sincere condolences for your loss. - Edie Spencer-Bellefontaine”
