With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Bessie Nurse (Saint John, New Brunswick), born in Bonavista, Newfoundland, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on September 8, 2025 at the age of 99. Though Bessie may no longer walk beside us, her memory will forever be enshrined in the fabric of the lives of those Bessie touched, a beacon of light guiding us through the darkness. A funeral service was held on Thursday, September 11th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Castle "fallsview" Chapel (309 Lancaster Ave, Saint John, NB E2M2L3). A burial was held on Thursday, September 11th 2025 from 12:15 PM to 12:30 PM at the Fernhill Cemetery (200 Westmorland Rd, Saint John, NB E2J2E7).
