Dawn Eileen Bates Obituary

We are sad to announce that on January 13, 2021, at the age of 58, Dawn Eileen Bates (Saint John, New Brunswick) passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by : her parents, Gerard Shannon and Helen Shannon (Lynch); her son Jeffrey Donald; her parents-in-law, Mary and Edward Bates; and her sister-in-law Susan Bates.

She is survived by : her husband Peter Bates; her close friend Peter; her son Peter (Dagney); her granddaughter Bailey; her siblings, Kathy Eastwood (Eric), Peter Shannon (Terri) and Sean Shannon (Michele); her siblings-in-law, Katherine Trainor (Joseph), Joanne Murphy (William), Edward (Patricia) and David (Frankie); her uncle Donald (Martina); and also, Agnes (Buzz), Dorothy, Patricia (Shawn) and Mary Teresa (Ed). She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

The family would like to give special thanks to all of the staff of the Oncology floor of 5AS for the wonderful care that Dawn received over the past year and for the tremendous compassion and support that the family received in difficult times during this global pandemic.
