Dawn Tobias Mawhinney Obituary
With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Dawn Tobias Mawhinney (Saint John, New Brunswick), who passed away on December 5, 2025 at the age of 76. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
Though Dawn may no longer walk beside us, her memory will forever be enshrined in the fabric of the lives of those Dawn touched, a beacon of light guiding us through the darkness. In her absence, her spirit lives on — a gentle whisper in the breeze, a ray of sunlight on a cloudy day, a reminder that love knows no boundaries.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Lloyd Essensa and Frances Essensa (Gallagher). She is survived by: her husband Arnold Mawhinney; her sons, Daniel Tobias and Michael Tobias; her grandchildren, Aliyah McIllwraith, Aidyn Tobias, Parker Tobias and Eli Tobias; and her brother Dale Essensa.
Visitation was held on Monday, December 8th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM. A celebration of life will be held on Tuesday, December 9th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Fundy Chapel (230 Westmorland Rd, Saint John, NB E2J2G3).
