He was predeceased by: his parents, Frederick Sanders and Lily Sanders; his wife Joan; and his brother George. He is survived by: his siblings, Connie Fullerton (Moncton), Nancy Holland (Vernon), Fred (Saint John) and Lily Kierstead (Bedford). He is also survived by several nieces and nephews and the Mackin brothers.
