It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Frederick Joseph Whelan (Saint John, New Brunswick), who passed away on April 2, 2022, at the age of 96, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his wife Anita Gertrude Whelan (McCabe); his parents, Francis Whelan and Winnifred Whelan (Ready); his daughter Janice Marion Chapman; and his sisters, Anne Branca (Alfred) and Ella Whelan.

He is survived by: his son John Whelan (Margaret MacCallum) of Saint John; his grandchildren, Alex (Laura), Jennifer (Tom) and Jonathan; his son Tom Whelan (Heather) of Saint John; his grandchild Padraic; his great grandchildren, Beth Whelan of Saint John and Anne Marie Whelan (Gregory Drodge) of Dartmouth; his granddaughter Kathleen Chapman (Jonathan Doiron); his great grandchildren, Sophie, Benjamin and Celeste; his siblings-in-law, Claire Weatherbie (late Jack) and Joseph McCabe (Miriam); Mitchell and Stacey. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

At the family's request please wear a mask when attending the visitation and Funeral Mass.
