He was predeceased by: his parents, Douglas Young and Maud Young (Jesso); and his brother-in-law Paul Moore. He is survived by: his children, Krystal Jesso of Saint John and John Barter (Stacey Moore) of Newfoundland; his sister Susan Young of Saint John; and his grandchildren, Jax, Jonathan, Adrian and Leland.
