He was predeceased by: his parents, Marton Batiz and Maria Batiz (Farkas); his wife Rita Batiz (King); and his siblings, Márton, Mihály, Sándor, János, József, István and Mária.

He is survived by: his children, Aniko Batiz (Ferencné Pántler), James Batiz (Jill Anderson-Batiz), Maria Shaw (Daren Langlais) and Éva Batiz (Trevor MacLaren); his stepdaughter Kathy Gallant (Wayne); his grandchildren, Jeremy, Jonathan, Jaclyn, Mindy, Keith, Jillian and Kate; and his great grandchildren, Keira, Leah and Easton. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews, cousins and friends.

For those who wish, memorial donations in James' memory to charity of the donor's choice would be appreciated by his family.
