She was loved and cherished by many people including : her parents, Millidgeville Ring and Grenville Ring (Margaret); her grandchildren, John Stoney and Liane Jordan; her significant other Rocky; her brother Bobby Ring; her daughter Margo Stoney; her grandchildren, Mark Jordan (Lisa) and Julia Carlson (Cory); her daughter Beth Wallace (Charlie); her grandson Malcolm Wallace (Chelsea); her son Rob Stoney (Kelly); her granddaughter Helen Stoney; her sister-in-law Betty Ring; her nephews, Bobby and Geodie Ring; and her niece Liza Ring-Dineen. She was also cherished by six great-grandchildren.

Joan died at Shannex Parkland, Lily Court Memory Unit after contracting COVID-19.

In lieu of flowers, donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or the Canadian Red Cross Society in support of COVID-19 relief efforts will be appreciated.

“Dear Margo and family Thinking of you all. Joan and Rocky were very special to me in my early nursing days and we continued to keep in touch through the years. Joan as your Mom was a very special strong lady and your loss of her will be felt for a long time.However your memories of her love for you all and her kindness and support and strength and her cooking and time at camp though the years will be your anchor.
