He was predeceased by: his parents, Phillip (Phylis Monteith) and Joe; his son Cory Monteith; his grandson Christopher McCoy; and his brother Malcolm.

He is survived by: his wife Yvette Cormier-Monteith; his son Shaun Monteith; his stepchildren, Paul McCoy (Corilee) and Dale McCoy (Nancy) of Maugerville, NB; his grandchildren, Jenna O'Donnell (Jeffrey), Lucy Young, Emily McCoy and Hanna McCoy of Maugerville, NB; his great grandchildren, Ivan McCoy, Davy McCoy, Roxanne Paquet, Adeline O'Donnell, Aster O'Donnell and Walter O'Donnell of Maugerville, NB; his brother Phillip Monteith; and his siblings-in-law, Roger, Guy, Nicole and Louise.

In lieu of flowers, donations made to Oromocto SPCA would be appreciated by the family.
