He was predeceased by : his parents, Douglas Roderick Hayward and Dorothy Elizabeth Buchenel (Howe); his siblings, Sharon, Judy and Dougie; his daughters, Christine Hayward and Serena Perry; and his close friend Bootsie.

He is survived by : his children, Jean Francois Doucet of Quebec, Melissa Rose Perry of Saint John and Tasha Lea Perry (Justin Baird) of Sussex; his stepdaughter Ruby (Charles Theriault); his grandchildren, Jean, Juliette, Robert, Devin, Jacey, Hailey, Jordan, Brody, Star, Amelia, Serena and Brittany; and his siblings, Bobby Hayward (Brenda) of Saint John, David Hayward (Karen) of Bloomfield, Ronnie Hayward of Ontario, Jimmy Hayward of Ontario, Carol Hayward (Mel) of Ontario, Ella Kelly (Howard) of GrandBay, Alice Belyea (Doug) of Saint John, Ethel Hayward (Eddie) of Nova Scotia and Dorothy Hayward of Mill Cove, N. B.. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews and cousins.
