She was predeceased by: her parents, Aubrey Dempster and Cora Dempster (Forsythe); her husband Donald Mitchell; her significant other Richard "Rick" Ackery; her daughters, Bessie Collins (Daryl Richard), Donna Young, Bonnie Mitchell and Joanne Mitchell; her grandson Shawn Renouf; and her brothers, Arnold Dempster (Mary), Fred Dempster and Joe Dempster.
She is survived by: her children, Pamela Renouf (Wilfred) and Richard Mitchell (Kariann); her sisters, Irene Owen (Peter), Sharon Chase (Stephen) and Sandra Dempster (Paul Walsh); her sister-in-law Evie McKay; her grandchildren, Tammy (Shane) of Steven, RJ, Ryan, Brandon, Brodie, Kirk (Krista), Danny (Kelsey), Punk (Jen), Wilfred (Missy), Cory, Richard and Dwayne (Jess); and her pet Lucky. She is also survived by several great-grandchildren.
She was deeply committed to giving back to her community and supported many charitable causes close to her heart, including the Police Association, IWK, S.P.C.A., the Empty Stocking Fund, and the Smile Foundation.
