She was predeceased by: her husband Joseph Clarence Blanchard; her parents, Vital and Angeline (Gallant); her siblings, Melina Daley (Leo), Lorette Quinn (Harold), Allan Gallant, Eugene Gallant (Louise), Louis Gallant, Eleanor Desveaux, Zeta Peters (Arthur) and Yvonne Gallant (Artie); her grandsons, Christopher and Travis Perry; and her son-in-law Mark Freeze.
She is survived by: her children, Eric Blanchard (Robin), Marlene Bordage (Lionel), Michael Blanchard (Helen Jane), Brenda Freeze (Mark), Carl Blanchard (Cathy), Robert Blanchard (Anne), Carol Ann Perry and Donald Blanchard (Tanya); her brother-in-law Jerry Desveaux; her grandchildren, Marc (Alison), Jason (Christine), Matthew (Jill), Danielle (Ian), Tony (Melissa), Brian (Tracy), Rebecca (Ian), Andrew (Calee), Emma (Matt), Shawn (Jannine), Jeff, Greg (Hannah), Melissa (Brian), Jill (Calvin), Kyle (Emily), Nick (Natasha), Brandon (Emily), Lindsay (Matt), Brady and Nathan; and her close friend Irene. She is also survived by 26 great – grandchildren, many nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers donations in Rita's memory can be made to the MD Society, Canadian Cancer Society or a charity of the donor's choice.
