She was predeceased by: her parents, Alden Staples and Kathleen Bonenfant of Quebec; her significant other François Regis Doucet; her husband Francois Regis; her children, Maurice, Richard and Denise Marie Macavoy; and her siblings, Eric Staples (Robina), Bobby Staples, Shirley McCarthy and Jean Staples.

She is survived by: her pet Caissie; her children, Carmen Gibbons (Dana Gibbons), Celia Doucet-Clark (Doug Clark), Kathleen Anderson (Daryl Anderson), Karen Doucet (Ed Bordun), Regis Doucet (Gisele) and Bernard Doucet; her friends, Yvon and Bella Arsenault; her grandchildren, Marley Anne Gibbons (Lucas Kitchen), Dr. Sophia Halassy (Kevin Piper), Leah and Sara Anderson; and her siblings, Richard Staples (Lorraine), Butch Staples (Lynn), Bob Staples (Cindy), Mary Ann Ladd (Ross), Jean Bernard (Jacques), Sandra MacDonaugh (John), Beverly Taylor (Harry) and Kathleen Lavallee (late Lewis).

Due to Covid-19 a Celebration of Moonyeen's life will be held at a later date.
