He was predeceased by: his parents, Vital Richard and Ozellie Richard; and his siblings, Rheal, Allison, Yvon Richard and Almone Richard.

He is survived by: his wife Vivian Marlaine; his sons, Edgar (Kelly), Reginald (Sheena) and Allison Richard; his grandsons, Daniel and Joseph Richard; his brother Yvon Comeau (Therese); and his brothers-in-law, Lorne Goodwin (Andrea), Lloyd Goodwin (Karen) and Bruce Moriell. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
