He was predeceased by: his parents, Richard McGuire and Muriel McGuire (Parks); his siblings, Ronald, Samuel, David, Barb Pitt and Elizabeth Wade; and his in-laws, James and Olive O'Leary (Babe).

He is survived by: his wife Lynn McGuire (O'Leary); his children, Richard James (Nancy), Christopher John, Traci Johanna Surette (Larry) and Chelsea Lynn Presley; his grandchildren, Sean McGuire (Brittany), Rylie Surette (Mikayla), Corey McGuire (Marissa), Kaydie Surette, Tia Presley and Myla Presley; his great grandchildren, Jesselyn Smith, Meadow Peters, Maverick McGuire and Isabelle Smith; and his siblings-in-law, Jim O'Leary (Chris), Terry O'Leary and Jane Comeau. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Richard's memory can be made to Bobby's Hospice or a charity of the donor's choice.
