He was predeceased by: his parents, Donald Nicol and Mary Nicol (Sproul); his grandparents, Ron, Gladys Sproul and Robert; and his close friend Dr. David Salgado.
He is survived by: his children, Sara Freill (Brian), Amanda Nicol (Jeff) and Joe Nicol (Ashley); his siblings, Pam Brayley-Healey, Sue McDonald (Ed) and Pete Nicol (Rose); his granddaughters, Sunny and Frankie Freill; his nephews, Andrew, Josh and John; his niece Nicole; the mother of his children Mary Nicol; and his son-in-law Liam Freill. He is also survived by several aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, January 8th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Fundy Funeral Home (230 Westmorland Rd, Saint John, NB E2J2G3). A funeral service was held on Thursday, January 9th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the same location. A burial was held on Thursday, January 9th 2025 at 11:30 AM at the Ocean View Memorial Gardens (715 Latimore Lake Rd, Saint John, NB E2N1X8). A reception was held on Thursday, January 9th 2025 at 12:00 PM at the Fundy Funeral Home (230 Westmorland Rd, Saint John, NB E2J2G3).
