He was predeceased by: his parents, John Thomson O. B. E. and Jesse Thomson (Rice); his wife Connie (Blanchet); his aunt Mary; and his cousin Billy.
He is survived by: his children, Sue of Rothesay, Cynthia "Pinte" Collins (Mark) of Quispamsis and Jim (Leanne) of Ottawa; and his grandchildren, Joey, Ben, Boyd, Killian, Aimée, Bailey and Drew.
