He was predeceased by: his parents, Maxwell Cairns and Evelyn Cairns (Proctor); and his siblings, Paul, Mary, Linda, Debbie and Leona.
He is survived by: his wife Kathy MacDonald (Bonner); his children, Ryan (Sara), Megan and Katelyn Chamberland (Mike); his mother-in-law Helen Bonner; his siblings, Donald MacDonald (Diane), Cindy MacDonald (Jim), Judy Johnson (Don) and Brenda Newman (Chuck); and his grandchildren, Owen, Liam, Peyton, Luke and Cali. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
