He was predeceased by: his parents, Harold McCarty and Katherine McCarty (Peters); and his siblings, Clarence, Victor, John, Malcolm, Harold, Elaine and Mary "Easter".

He is survived by: his wife Diana (Doucette); his children, Monique (Anthony), Victor and Vernon (Krystle); his stepchildren, Dale (Crystal) and Sabrina (TJ); his grandchildren, Sarah, Amber, Eben, Tyson, Kaden, Jade, Aeneas, Eliza, Julian and Jessica; his great grandchildren, Tyarah, Koale, Lelle, Cedar and Ulanda; and his siblings, Edward (Belinda), Katherine "Rosebud" (David) and Ella Louise (Wayne). He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
