He was predeceased by: his parents, Calvin MacKenney and Theresa MacKenney (Doucet); and his brother Ryan Mackenney (Corey Keirstead). He is survived by: his wife Diane (Burley) of Quispamsis; his children, Tracey MacKenney of Saint John and Jamie MacKenney of Edmonton, AB; his siblings, Kathy Boyd (Gerry), Neil MacKenney of Saint John, Kevin MacKenney (Carolyn) of Passekeag and Cindy Christie (Andrew) of Saint John; and his grandsons, Tanner, Corbin and Logan Brown.

Due to COVID-19 health measures placed on indoor gatherings by the Government of New Brunswick, all those 12 and older attending the visitation and funeral mass will be required to show proof of vaccination and a piece of government-issued ID, or proof of medical exemption.
