He was predeceased by: his parents, John Moore and Ada Louisa Hanington (Adams); his wife Beatrice Hanington (Bateman); his sisters, Doris Wood, Ethel Jones, Margaret Harvey, Mary Rimmer, Florence Hicks and Muriel Jones; and his brothers-in-law, William Wood, John Harvey, Ralph Rimmer, Ronald Jones, Hugh Hicks, Donald Jones and Robert Hamilton.
He is survived by: his siblings, Allen Hanington, Lillian Hamilton of Shediac Cape and Edith Hanington of Halifax. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
