He was predeceased by: his parents, Daniel Poitras and Gemma Poitras (Laplante); his wife Yolande; his granddaughter Jessica; his great grandchild Dallas; and his siblings, Thérèse Gaudet, Jacqueline Ruest, Ginette Lajeunesse, Danielle "Pousse" Poitras, Alyre Martin and Gilles "P'Tit Gill".
He is survived by: his daughters, Janice Payne (Donald) of Haute-Aboujagane and Jocelyne McGraw (Jacques) of Cormier-Village; his grandchildren, Ghislain, Stéphanie and Gabriel; his great grandchild Emma; and his siblings, Ghislain Martin, Gaëtan Martin, Maurice Martin, Émile, Laurence "Coune" Legacé, Jeanne Martin, Jacinthe Boucher, Jeannine Levesque and Noëlla Martin. He is also survived by several nieces and, nephews.
