He was predeceased by: his father Philip Lawson. He is survived by: his mother Margaret Lawson (Bell); his fiancée Wendy Pearson; his son Brett Lawson (Stephanie); his granddaughters, Zoey and Alexis of Surrey, BC; his siblings, Richard (Patti) of Pembrooke, ON, Dorine Dennique (Richard) of Woodstock, NB and Karan Burgher (Dean) of Greenwood, NS; his cousin Darren Bell; and his nieces and nephews, Jennifer, Erin, Christina, Joseph and Timothy. He is also survived by several aunts, uncles and cousins.
