It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Carmel Marie Sturgeon of Smith Crossing, New Brunswick, born in Renous, New Brunswick, who passed away on January 12, 2023, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by : her husband Ronnie Sturgeon of Smith Crossing, NB; her parents, David McEvoy Sr. and Vernice McEvoy (Donovan); and her brothers, Carl and Gerard.

She is survived by : her close friend Gilles Cusson; her children, Loretta Gorbett (Ronald) of Lockstead, Rhonda Vickers (Troy) of Blackville, Stephen Gillespie of Blackville, Kevin Gillespie (Bonnie) of Taber Alberta and Todd Sturgeon (Cindy) of South Esk; her siblings, Mary Hallihan (late Adrian) of Miramichi, Paulette Riordon of Woodstock, Anita McEvoy of Woodstock, David McEvoy (Ann) of Woodstock, Donovan McEvoy of Woodstock and Wilson McEvoy of Toronto; her grandchildren, Karissa, Dylan, Tyler, Ashley, Lauren, Ethan, Andrew, Tanner, Nathan and Harper; and her great grandchildren, Greyson and Everleigh.

In memory of Carmel, donations to St. Andrew's United Church or a memorial of one's choice would be appreciated.
