He was predeceased by: his parents, Ray Benson and Annie Benson (Wilcox); his wife Aneta Benson (Hersey); his sibling's children, Laurence Cook and Tanya Cook; Joan Cook (Ingalls).
He is survived by: his sister Edith Cook; his niece Melinda Cook (Doug LeBlanc); his great-nieces and great-nephews, Allyson, Hannah Cook (Lukas Urquhart), Wesley Cook (Allyssa) and Jeffrey LeBlanc; Jamie Urquhart.
Visitation was held on Friday, September 26th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Immanuel Family Church.
For those who wish, in lieu of flowers, memorials to the Grand Manan Nursing Home Foundation, Action Ministries of Grand Manan, or a charity of the donor's, choice would be appreciated by the family.
