He was predeceased by: his parents, Orris Nelson Bridges and Kathleen Elizabeth Madsen (Eye); his stepmother Mary Bridges; his sons, Timothy Nelson Bridges, John Michael Bridges (Kim) of St Stephen and Jason Allen Smith; his sister Marian Smith (Kenny); his half-sister Carol Ann Bridges; his former wife Donna Bradford (Alan); his in-laws, Willis Smith and Effie Smith; George Raymond.
He is survived by: his girlfriend Doreen Smith of Upper Mills, NB.; his children, Orris Bridges (Corinne) of St Stephen, David Bridges (Darlene) of Nova Scotia, Debbie Bridges (Roy) of St Stephen, Sherry Watson (John) of St. George and Robert Smith (April) of St. Stephen; his grandchildren, Joey, Orris of Shane, JJ, Katie, Heather, Coby, John Jr., Zach, Tyler, Ryan, Jerika and Robbie; his great grandchildren, Zoey, Gabriel, Quinn and Jackson; his siblings, Margaret Scott of Calais, Maine, James Curran (Debbie) of St. Stephen and Bob Bridges of Ontario; and his siblings-in-law, Tammy Savoy (Joe) of St. George, Leo Smith of Nova Scotia and Lee Smith of Ontario. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, cousins and many cherished friends.
Visitation was held on Thursday, August 27th 2026 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the S. O. Mehan & Son Funeral Home Ltd. (23 Main St, St Stephen, NB E3L1Y9). A funeral service was held on Friday, August 28th 2026 at 2:00 PM at the S. O. Mehan & Son Funeral Home (23 Main St, St Stephen, NB E3L1Y9).
In lieu of flowers, donations in Orris's memory may be made to the Charlotte County Food Bank, the SPCA of Charlotte County or a charity of one's choice.
