He was predeceased by: his parents, Ernest DeMerchant and Olive DeMerchant (Pimlott); his wife Viola (Wheeler); his grandson Ryan Taylor; and his siblings, Richard, Lewis, Earle, Archie, Nimrod, Hazel DeMerchant, Neola Brooks, Marita Martin and Dorothy Dewitt.
He is survived by: his children, Brian (Liz), Albert (Sherry), David (Nancy), Anne DeMerchant-Wheeler, Susan Larlee (John), Donna Taylor (Neil), Sheila Bissonette (Denis), Mary Cougle (Glen) and Rhonda DeMerchant (Steven Kervin); and his brothers, Glen and Donald. He is also survived by 21 grandchildren, 31 great grandchildren, 3 great-great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins.
