He was predeceased by: his parent Andrew Martin; and his brothers, Rufus Martin and Terrance Martin. He is survived by: his parent Alice Martin (Sock); and his siblings, Geraldine Francis (late William) of Esgenoôpetitj, NB, Carol Johnson (Gordon Johnson) of Esgenoôpetitj, NB, Sharon Savoie (Rene Savoie) of Esgenoôpetitj, NB, Donna Martin (Robert Savoie) of Esgenoôpetitj, NB, Burton Martin of Esgenoôpetitj, NB, Clayton Martin (Sharon Joe) of Esgenoôpetitj, NB and Brian Martin (Diane Joe) of Esgenoôpetitj, NB. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

As expression of sympathy, in Alvin's memory donations may be made to the NB Heart and Stroke Foundation.
