He was predeceased by: his parents, Barrie Shaw and Fronie Shaw (Ruff) of Coldstream; his siblings, Blaine and Kay; and his brother-in-law Dean Wade.

He is survived by: his siblings, Nancy Hunter (Earnest), Sheila Martin (Michael), Sonya McDonald (Randy), Donna Trecartin (Joe), Brent Shaw and Debbie Shaw (Dave Foster). He is also survived by several Nieces, Nephews and Cousins.
