He was predeceased by: his significant other Carmel Downey; his parents, Cyril Rice and Winifred Rice; and his siblings, Wilfred Rice, Gord Rice, Pleaman Rice, Albert Rice and Anita Rice.

He is survived by: his siblings, Bart Rice (Linda) and Joan Banks. He is also survived by other relatives and friends.
