He was loved and cherished by many people including : his parents, Clayton Gavin and Hazel Gavin of Westport, NL; his wife Debbie Gavin of Westport, NL; his children, Sandy Zinck (Marc), Halifax and Karen Gavin (Chad); his grandchildren, Blake and Spencer; his siblings, Wilson Gavin, Roger Gavin (Doreen), Terry Gavin (Dot), Marilyn Mackenzie (Charlie), Lawrence Gavin (Savannah), Vincent Gavin and Peter Gavin; his parents-in-law, Ernest and Cecile Brian; and his siblings-in-law, Robert Brian, John Brian (Janice), Terry Brian (Elaine) and Glen Cassell. He was also cherished by nieces, nephews, extended family, fire department family and friends.

Visitation was held on Tuesday, December 29th 2020 from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Foster Funeral Home (22 Main St, Baie Verte, NL A0K1B0).
