He was predeceased by: his parents, Otto Champion and Madeline Champion; his brother Keith; his parents-in-law, Allan and Ruby Reid; his sisters-in-law, Linda Day and Barbara Reid; and his nephew Philip Day.

He is survived by: his wife Bernice; his daughter Angela; his son-in-law Isaac; his grandchildren, Rylie and Zac; his siblings, Wayne (Allison), Tony (Michele), Rod (Paula), Debbie Mallard (Pat) and Karen Eldem (Tayfun); and his siblings-in-law, Bob Reid, Marg Reid, Judy Loder (Roger), Janet Kinden (Rob) and Carolyn Morgan (Leo).
