He was predeceased by : his parents, Lloyd Thompson and Lillian Thompson; his brother Gerald Thompson; his brother-in-law Gerald Budgell; and his parents-in-law, Jack and Margaret Penney.

He is survived by : his wife Shirley (Penney); his daughter Penny Thompson (Robert Hancock); his pet Callie; his siblings, Barbara Budgell (Archie Rowsell), Allan (Muriel), Wayne (Trula) and Harold (Phyllis); and his siblings-in-law, Ruth Thompson, Paul Penney (Carolyn) and Mike Penney (Maysie). He is also survived by nieces, nephews and friends.

Visitation was held on Sunday, April 21st 2024 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM at the Hoskins Funeral Home (271 Water St, Botwood, NL A0H1E0). A funeral service was held on Monday, April 22nd 2024 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
