He was predeceased by: his parents, Alfred Edison and Ruby Edison; his wife Viola Mae; his siblings, Evelyn Champion, Maurice Edison, Elizabeth Edison, Harold Edison and Catherine Edison; and his son-in-law Thomas Brent.
He is survived by: his children, Kimburley Brent, Kirk and Keith (Shawna); his grandchildren, Chelsey (Daniel), Jacob (Kathleen), Jamie (Jordan), Kirklyn (Spencer), Lindsey and Karlee; his great grandchildren, Sarah, Lauren, Max and Blair; his siblings, Margaret Snelgrove, Vince Edison (Mary), Loretta Decker, Kevin Edison (Loretta), Dennis Edison (Ruby), Allison Hunt, Everett Edison (Mary), Dale Harasymiw (Ian), Terry Edison (Florence), Karen Williams (Andrew) and Lauree Cottrell (Brian); and his caregivers, Karen Slade and Patricia Baker.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Omar's memory to the Botwood Volunteer Fire Department or the Botwood Kinsmen Club, both organizations of which he was a decades-long member.
