He was predeceased by: his mother Catherine Nicks (Quigley); his brother Sean Ray; and his uncle Patrick Quigley (Pat). He is survived by: his close friend Sheila; his children, Stefan (Dayana), Catherine and Madeline; his father John Nicks; his siblings, Lillian Murphy (Doug), Sharon English (Wilfred) and Patrick Nicks; his in-laws, Denis and Annie Nash; his siblings-in-law, Rosella Coffey (George), Rhonda Nash and Denis Nash (Glenda); his aunt Ruth Proctor; his uncle Willard Nicks (Patricia) of Tennessee; and his cousin Michigan. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.

Donations may also be made to a charity of one's choice in Stephen's name, as a tribute to the life of giving he led.
