In loving memory of Agnes Matthews of Brents Cove, Newfoundland, who departed this world on October 25, 2025 at the age of 90. Agnes leaves behind a legacy remembered by family and friends. She was predeceased by: her husband Gregory Matthews; her children, Donald Matthews, Michelle and Mary Matthews; her parents, James Sullivan and Catherine Sullivan; and her siblings, Ronald Sullivan (Elizabeth), Jeremiah Sullivan (Margaret), Elizabeth Sullivan and Johnny Sullivan.
She is survived by: her children, Anne Marie (Kevin), Gerard (Violet), Philomena (Dave), Alicia (Johno), Rosalind (James), Diane (Barry), Paul (Cheryl), Dave (Betty), Sheila (Sean), Glenda (Eric) and Angie (Greg); and her grandchildren, Michelle, Sarah, Laura, Jessica, Amanda, Melissa, Mark, Matthew, Gregory, Julia, Sam, Jordan, Olivia, Sara, David, Hannah and Jackson.
Visitation was held on Monday, October 27th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the St. John the Apostle Roman Catholic Church. A rosary was held on Monday, October 27th 2025 at 6:30 PM. A wake was held on Monday, October 27th 2025 at 7:00 PM. A Mass of Christian burial was held on Tuesday, October 28th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
As an expression of sympathy, flowers are gratefully accepted, or donations may be made to St. John the Apostle Roman Catholic Cemetery, Brent's Cove, NL.
