He was predeceased by : his parents, William Sparkes and Diana Sparkes (Newell); and his siblings, Myra, Brenda, Mabel (Roy), Reuben (Trixie), Harold (Mabel), Marg (Richard), Ruth (Graham) and Frances.

He is survived by : his wife Marilyn; his children, Sandra (Johnny), Sheryl (Neil), Stacey (Curtis) and Shane (Lori); his grandchildren, Hallie, Jaden, Jaxon, Jack, Olivia and William; and his brother-in-law Jack Flynn. He is also survived by nieces, nephews and friends.
