Calvin Gates Obituary

It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Calvin Gates of Brookfield, Newfoundland, who passed away on December 25, 2023, at the age of 70, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Duncan Gates and Victoria Gates; his brother Seymour Gates; his niece Tina Gates; and his nephew Brad Mercer.

He is survived by: his wife Shirley; his sons, Shawn of Brookfield and Mike (Nancy) of Gander; his brother Cator (Cindy) of Brookfield; his grandchildren, Lily and Noah; and his sister-in-law Rosalie Gates.

As an expression of sympathy and in lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to the Gates family, who will decide on monetary disbursements at a later date.
