She was loved and cherished by many people including : her parents, Malcolm and Mildred Brown of Musgravetown; her husband Allan Thorne; her siblings, Shirley Hall and Dave Brown; her children, Allan Thorne (Lola), Malcolm Thorne (Jennifer) and Susanne Harris (Shawn); her grandchildren, Chris and Brendan of Calgary, AB; her children, Katie, Milo of Red Deer, AB and Benjamin of Paradise, NL.; her sister Elizabeth Svendsen; and her siblings-in-law, Rowena Brown, Norma Thorne of St. John's, NL and Chester Thorne (Evelyn) of Brownsdale, NL.

As an expression of sympathy, in lieu of flowers, a donation in her memory can be made to the Dr. H. Bliss Murphy Cancer Care Foundation or to a charity of one's choice.
