He was predeceased by: his parents, Peter and Hannah; his grandchildren, Nathan and Kelly; and his siblings, Frank, Lou, Alexander, Mary and Bessie.

He is survived by: his wife Mary; his children, Tony (Mary) of Burin, Sherry Brushett (Thomas) of Burin, Heather Marks (Dwayne) of Burin, Brenda Noseworthy (Glen) of Toronto and Pamela Power (Adam) of Mortier; his grandchildren, Ethan, Terrilee, Samantha, Christina, Matthew, Daniel, Brendan and Erica; and his great grandchildren, Madison, Zackery and Ryder.
