She was predeceased by: her husband Melvin Kirby; her parents, Violet Whalen and Jim Whalen; her parents-in-law, Leonard and Lillian; her siblings, Olive Harding, Walter Whalen and Jack Whalen; and her siblings-in-law, Joan, Yvonne and Jim Hodder.
She is survived by: her son Mark (Carla); her grandchildren, Mason and Randi-Lee; her siblings-in-law, Holly (Ken), Randy (Dianne) and Cyril Green; and her siblings, Thomas Whelan (Georgina) and Wilma Moulton (Heb).
Visitation was held on Tuesday, October 20th 2026 from 11:00 AM to 9:00 PM at the Serenity Funeral Home (95 Main St, Burin Bay Arm, NL A0E 1G0). A celebration of life was held on Wednesday, October 21st 2026 at 2:00 PM at the same location. The inurnment will be held on Saturday, October 24th 2026 at 2:00 PM at the Bethany United Cemetery.
