He was predeceased by: his parents, James Mayo and Marjorie Mayo; his daughter Mary; and his siblings, Grace, Mabel, Hebert, Calvin and Judy.

He is survived by: his wife Eliza; his children, Jim Mayo and Sandra Mayo of Creston South; his grandchildren, Bradley, Sheldon and Samantha; his great grandchildren, Wheeler Mayo, Savannah Mayo, Sophia Mayo and Braden Mayo; and his sister Vera Mayo.
