He was predeceased by: his parents, William Matthews and Mary Helen Matthews; his siblings, Fred, Garfield, Henry (Mina), Sarah, Melvina (Cyril), Georgina (Sidney), Rita (Norman), Blanche (Clifford) and Julia (Ron); and his sister-in-law Myrtle.
He is survived by: his brothers, John (Nellie), Walter (Gladys) and Alex; and his brother-in-law Neville.
