It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Bill Laing of Carbonear, Newfoundland, who passed away on July 16, 2025, at the age of 66, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Gordon and Marie. He is survived by: his wife Charmaine; his children, Billy (Stephanie), Karl (Deanne), Amanda (Walt) and Ron (Kim); his son-in-law Kenneth; his grandchildren, Colin, Dakota, Gavin, Lili, Brittany, Hannah, MiKayla, Micheal, Noah, Jamye, Jayden, Marcus, Gracie and Dawson; his great grandchildren, Ryder and Vander; his siblings, Betty (Jeff), Jean, Vera, Pat (Dave), Rosalind (John), Gary (Debbie) and Rivlan (Lillian); his siblings-in-law, Marilyn (Jack), Tina (Phil), Francis, Guy, David (Doris), Dale (Joanne) and Richard (Karen); his close friends, Howard (Lisa), Lynette (Ray), Brenda (Jerry), Ada, Tom (Barb) and Keith; his pets, Maggie and Shadow; his parents-in-law, Richard and Jean; his daughter Connie; his stepson Ricky; his siblings, Gertie, Sylvia and Gordon, Jr.; and his brothers-in-law, George, Lorne and Dan.
A reception was held on Friday, July 18th 2025 from 11:30 AM to 8:00 PM at the Slade's Funeral Home (31 Powell Dr, Carbonear, NL A1Y 1A5). A prayer was held on Friday, July 18th 2025 at 8:00 PM at the Edward Slade Memorial Chapel. A burial will be held on Monday, July 21st 2025 at 11:00 AM at the St. James Anglican Cemetery (13 Bond St, Carbonear, NL A1Y1C4).
In lieu of flowers, as expressions of sympathy, donations may be to the Bill Laing Memorial Fund.
