He was predeceased by: his parents, Walter Payne and Jessie Payne; his siblings, George (Florence), Ambrose (Emily), Harriett (Alonzo), Henry (Lucy), Naomi, Florence, Gladys (Bram), Arthur (Violet), Marie (Nelson), Eric, Garland (Doreen) and Walter (Kathleen); and his siblings-in-law, Ted, Andrew, Fergus, Mildred (Garfield), Elizabeth (Burl), James, Irene (Edward), Allan (Marie), Wilfred (Mary Ellen), Wallace and Jerome.
He is survived by: his wife Marcella Payne; his children, Paula (Floyd), Paul (Lori) and Donald Jr. (April); his grandchildren, Alexander and Brooklyn; his siblings, Violet, Ruby, Ruth (Carl), Calvin (Isabel), Hope and Albert (Iris); his siblings-in-law, Julia (Lester), Juanita, Kevin (Cheryl), Louise and Wayne (Margaret); his caregiver Deanne Chipman; Peggy and Jerome. He is also survived by extended family and friends.
In lieu of flowers, as expressions of sympathy donations may be made to the Donald Payne Memorial Fund.
