Margaret Rose Power Obituary
It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Margaret Rose Power of Carbonear, Newfoundland, who passed away on November 20, 2025, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her husband Leo; her parents, James McCarthy and Rita McCarthy; her parents-in-law, Edward and Catherine Power; her siblings, William, John Joe, Dennis, Phillip, Kathleen and Mary; and her brother-in-law Jerry Power.
She is survived by: her children, Terry Power (Tina Bursey-Snelgrove), Rita Thorne (Gary), Sharon Vallis (Ken), Betsy Squires (late Blanford Billard), Kay March (Stevie) and Bernard; her grandchildren, Angela Wall (Jeff), Christopher Squires (Wandalee Kelloway), Andrew Thorne (Kristie), Christina Peach (Brad), Jamie March (Sierra Carpenter), Alex March (Tiffany), Tanya Thorne (Troy) and Chloe March; her great grandchildren, Jaxon, Cali, Kailey, Leo, Ruby, Kinsley and Harper; and her close friends, Janet Pardy, Pat Sparkes and Raylene Smith.
Visitation was held on Sunday, November 23rd 2025 from 10:30 AM to 12:00 PM, from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM, from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM and on Monday, November 24th 2025 from 10:30 AM to 12:00 PM. A funeral service was held on Monday, November 24th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Assumption Roman Catholic Church.
In lieu of flowers, as an expression of sympathy, donations in her memory may be made to the Low Point Roman Catholic Cemetery Fund, c/o Assumption Parish, P. O. Box 70, Bay de Verde, NL, A0A 1E0.
