He was predeceased by: his wife Christine (Purcell); his parents, Alice McCarthy and Herbert McCarthy; his parents-in-law, Ellen and Edward Purcell; and his siblings-in-law, Don Purcell, Philip Delaney, Isabelle Delaney and Madeline Bray.
He is survived by: his daughter Melanie (Clayton); his grandson Caleb; his siblings, Bill (Donna), Frances O'Neil (Riverhead), Patsy Gibson (Riverhead) and Anne Mercer (Carbonear); and his siblings-in-law, Joe (Pat), Brian (Maxine), Mona (John), Healey (Nova Scotia), Ethel (Brian), Hunt (Alberta) and Carol Newman. He is also survived by nieces and nephews, friends.
